Beer. What can we say about beer? Well for one, beer goes back a long time, to Egyptian times to be exact. Now, whilst it’s safe to say that you and I would rather skol a pint of Little Creatures Bright ale, than the recipe served up as an offering to the goddess Ninkasi, it illustrates the time human-kind has spent perfecting its craft. From the Egyptian worshipers to the Trappist monks in Belgium and the Netherlands, to the great German and Bavarian producers, beer has certainly come a long way.

Which brings me to the new breed of inventors: the boutique or craft brewer. Arguably the ‘sexier’ side of the industry, far removed from the massive breweries who produce billions of cases of beer a year, craft brewing represents the ‘foodie’ of the beer world. Thus, the craft brewer and craft brews will be the main source of inspiration for this blog.

  1. Might I suggest you try a little known beer by the name of Monteiths Honey Spiced Summer Ale – especially for those lucky enough to be in the southern hemisphere.

This Kiwi drop is extremely refreshing in the warmer temperatures – even nice if you do the corona thing and stick a sliced of lime in the top or for something a little different try it with a slice of orange – no I’m not kidding 🙂

Can be found in Dan Murphy’s for less than you think.

    Merry Christmas!
